Introducing The Windigo, Page 10A-

This is a continuation of the story of Cassie Greenaway, a.k.a. “The Windigo”.

This should come between Page 10 and Page 11.

Cassie has been off stage for too long, ready to see Dr. Astor. It is her story after all.

Foreword:

Cassie Greenaway was a Grad Student, specializing in Companion Planting, specifically The “Three Sisters”, from Native American cultures, when a rival student contaminated her lab with GMOs, transforming her into the “Eco-Terrorist” the media have dubbed “The Windigo”.

After appearing suddenly at the UN, to urge action on protecting drinking water, air quality, and treaty rights, Cassie went to see her Grandmother, Emily and Aunt Carol, a Naturopathic Doctor.

While Cassie was changing, her Aunt, Dr. Carol called Dr. Astor, at the Nova Clinic, to see when the doctor could see her; and, Dr. Astor said to bring Cassie in right away.

So, Dr. Astor and Liz get ready for Cassie, in the old NSI fallout shelters, below their offices, before the media or authorities get to her first.

While, Dr. Carol, Cassie’s Aunt, and Emily, her Grandmother, Carol’s Mum, help get her and a few things together.

Introducing The Windigo, Page 10A:

Dr. Carol has been talking to Dr. Astor and Liz through her comm-link, on her ID badge, via their DA’s [Digital Assistants], Jeannie and Alice, respectively;

While Cassie finished showering and changing, down the hall;

And, Emily pulled an over-sized hoodie out of her Aunt’s closet, to try and keep Cassie warm, when she started shivering.

“Cassie? Mum?” Dr. Carol called, going down the hall. “Dr. Astor and Liz say they can take you in right away?”

Then, she saw her niece for the first time, “You’re olive.” She noticed.

“Not moss?” Cassie asked, shivering.

“They can take her right away?” Emily asked.

“Ah, yes,” Carol answered. “They’re getting things ready now.”

“Good,” her Grandmother said. “Should we get some things together?” She asked.

“I just have my yoga bag,” Cassie said, her teeth clattering.

“We’ll get some things together,” Emily said.

“You can rid in the back, in the smart car,” Carol said.

“But, what’s with the cloak?” She asked.

“I’m just so cold,” Cassie shivered.

“I’m sure Dr. Astor will be able help,” Carol said, trying to reassure her. “She wanted to talk to you, before we came in,” she said, holding out a comm-link.

“Okay,” her niece said, taking it.

“Hello?” Cassie said, tentatively.

“Cassie? Is that you?” The voice at the other end asked.

“Yes,” she answered.

“It’s good to talk to you, Cassie. This is Dr. Hesea Astor,” the voice said.

“Can you help?” Cassie asked.

“I hope so,” Dr. Astor said.
