The Snow Queen

“The fur and the cap, which were made entirely of snow, fell off, and he saw a lady, tall and white, it was the Snow Queen…”

-from, The Snow Queen (1845), by Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875).

----------------------------------------

Memo: This was my second attempt, like The Snow Queen, my first attempt, it doesn’t meet the criteria, because I missed the line in the directions that this was to be a full body portrait.

However, my third attempt Snow Queen, was accepted.

Notes:

To many,  the most classic portrait is Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa”.

A friend was so overwhelmed by its beauty when she saw it, that she was sick in front of it. Maybe the staff was just being nice; but, they said that this happened fairly often.

(The Mona Lisa, by Leonardo da Vinci, oil on panel, 1503–1519, was probably completed while the artist was at the court of Francis I.)

[1] The Snow Queen (1845), (DanishSnedronningen) is an original fairy tale written by Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875).

The story centres on the struggle between good and evil for Gerda and her friend, Kay.

This is one of Andersen's most popular stories.

[2] The Snow Queen (2005) is a BBC television adaptation, merging live-action and CGI.[19]

The film features songs by Paul K. Joyce, it stars Juliet Stevenson, with the voice of Patrick Stewart, as The Raven.

It was adapted from a 2003 concert at the Barbican Arts Centre.

[3] The Mona Lisa is a half-length portrait of Lisa Gherardini by the Italian Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci, which has been described as "the best known, the most visited, the most written about, the most sung about, the most parodied work of art in the world".[1]
